Australian Emerging Designers and Their Creations

These young Australian fashion designers through their designs have presented their individual and distinctive style and delivered a fresh and wearable fashion form for modern women. Their success in the fashion industry is an encouraging force for me.

Candles?!

I came cross this beautiful candle shop in Surfur Paradise. They are all increadible delicate hand made locally. The most amazing thing is they mix wax with all kinds of normal objects or everyday material, such as shells, sea stars, dry fruits, cooking spices, then transform them into fantastic artcrafts.

Textile Experiments

These two images are generated through Photoshop from my initial textile manipulations. I am looking for further inspiration for textile design ideas, which could fit into my design concept and will focus on partial complicated and sophisticated design detail.

Colour Palette CONT

Black and White are the highlight definitions for my collection. But soft bright colours are the turning points for my audience.
So far these are some colour exploration with which I have experimented. They are mainly drawn and developed from photographer -Richard Woldendorp’s works.

Colour Palette

Inspired by both Chinese and Western visual art, painting and photography, the monochrome colour is the main colour palette for my collection. This is just experiment of free hand ink brush on calico, and then water spray on top of it to achieve random making pattern, by which to create a kind of art form on cloth.

Transformations and Illusions

Textile design by Hil Driessen

Driessen is a Dutch textile designer. It is said her approach is pioneering new possibilities for textile design. Her distinctive vision of material innovation is revealed from these textile design images. She had folded and stitched a sheet of vinyl to create the silhouette of an attenuated tree. She then photographed the manipulation and then the shadow of real tree, and by using digital technology blended the two images together and then printed onto Trevor CS fabric, Driessen transformed her design onto flat form with visual illusions to create a surprisingly tactile surface.

Self-expression and Art-like Object

Textile designs by Claudia Hill

According to the designer she stated that she could express herself and her feelings through her designs, just as an emotional architect who captures expression in clothing, she sculpts clothing as a 3D form for the body. A textile’s surface with all its subtle details is designer self expression in the art-like object.

Vintage Clothing, Jewellery & Textile Show

I went to the Vintage Show in Canterbury today and spent a great time there, if without time restriction, I could have spent the whole day devouring the fabulous art-craft works, gorgeous accessories, beautiful clothing. A particular highlight was seeing the amazing people dressing in different vintage style, there were much more to see for my one pair of eyes (talk about eye candy). I was so busy to catch the brilliant “things” that I nearly forgot to take photos. These are the picture of some lovely vintage shoes. Anyway, I love the delicate craft and subtle detail on the shoes. The vintage hat piece was so gorgeous that I went back at least twice, the second time to try it on. While it does not appeal and look that great in the photos you should have checked it out in the real form. It was a delightful and very interesting experience the good old days were certainly brought to life for me and the fashion was amazing.

Art Works

These are some fabulous fashion illustrations done by two of my favorite fashion illustrators. I love their style - a simple form with a simple colour palette, but delivering a powerful expression. For me black and white are not monotonous, they are extremes.

Innermost Feelings of France CONT

Although I hardly have any knowledge about architecture, I am always very interested and fascinated about it. To me, the marvelous forms and incredible structures are most appreciated. Especially the elegant and charming design features of the chateaus and the early century buildings which are just as divine as artistic master pieces.
